ERECTING HOLY ALTARS

An altar is a dedicated place or a place of sacrifice unto a god or deity. Altar in Hebrew is mizbeah (pronounced miz-bay-akh) and means an altar or to slay. In the Greek, altar is thusiasterian meaning an altar as a place of sacrifice. A sacrifice represents an act of slaughtering an animal or person; a place to offer or give a possession or something of value as an offering to a deity in exchange for a benefit, such as blessings, protection, prosperity, favor and the like.

Entering the place called an altar gives you the legal right to enter the spirit realm. Therefore, the altar is also known as the place where the natural man can connect with the spiritual realm. Every altar is established for a specific reason. This reason can be godly; for a holy purpose or it can also be demonic; for an evil purpose. No matter its purpose, every altar is activated by a sacrifice.

Everything that happens in your life takes place because an altar is in place. If you constantly find yourself being rejected, coming up short, losing out on opportunities or failing at simple tasks then there may be a wicked altar erected with your name on it; whether by deliberate, targeted attacks by wicked or ungodly people or inherited family curses, you must continually destroy wicked altars in your life and seek to erect holy ones.

John 10:10 reveals that Jesus came that you might enjoy an abundant life. In Romans 14:17, the Word of God clearly outlines that  “…the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” This is what Jesus died to bring you; a life that is experienced and enjoyed through the righteousness of God that comes through Jesus, the Christ with the indwelling help of Holy Spirit as you serve a holy God.

PRAYER: I pray that the Spirit of God will help you to expose every ungodly altar in your life and give you the courage to defeat these altars as you seek to diligently erect holy altars through a consistent prayer life, reading the Word of God and through praising and worshipping God.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION: I decree and declare that as you continually seek to build the holy altars of God in your life that your life will never be the same, through the power of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name.

LIFE’S SURVIVAL KIT FOR DEADLY STORMS

In my book, I Refuse To Die, It’s My Time To Live, I share a few survival tips that helped me survive some of the worst storms that I have had to face. I will share some of them and pray that they are a blessing to you:

  • · In John 16:33, one of the first thing Jesus told them was to be of good cheer. You must find your joy and be happy.
  • · You must recognize, see and hear God in the midst of your crises. Ignore all other voices and distractions.
  • · You must overcome the spirit of fear. Some storms can be “optical illusions” and appear to be worse than they really are. They look like one thing but as you go through them, you see something different. (F.E.A.R. is nothing more than False Evidence Appearing Real)
  • · You must defeat the spirit of doubt by holding fast to your confidence in God. Doubt is an indication that you once believed something, however you are struggling to maintain that same belief, confidence or trust in that thing.
  • · There is a purpose for everything that God allows you to go through. He promised that He would never leave you nor forsake you. If you are in the midst of a storm, seek God for His divine purpose and providence.
  • · You must obey and do exactly what Jesus tells you to do. Be prepared to step out of the box; do not lean on your own intellect or knowledge for “spiritual” success trust God, wholeheartedly.
  • · No matter the adversity, you must make it to the other side, in spite of the winds and waves.

Come out of your deadly storm experience with something tangible, such as a song, an album, a painting, a book, a divine revelation, a divine connection, a new name, or a refocused destiny…do not just come out empty!!! (1 Samuel 30)

PRAYER: Father, I pray for this precious reader, who may be facing a very difficult challenge right now. I pray that you would give strengthen him in the midst of this difficult time and reveal Yourself to him as strong tower that he can lean on. I come against every spirit of fear, doubt and unbelief and release the strength of God upon him to come through every storm, victoriously.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION: I decree and declare that no weapon formed against you shall be able to prosper and that you will walk in a “wealthy place” after your storm, in Jesus name!

I SURVIVED THE STORM….NOW WHAT??

Hurricane Dorian, a Category Five monster storm was documented as the most powerful hurricane to hit landfall in history. This massive system savagely ravaged two of the northern islands of the Bahamas, Abaco and Grand Bahama for several hours, leaving a path of death and destruction, such as had never been seen before.

After the storm, stories emerged of how scores of people were forced to take drastic measures just to survive. The horror of the images of this brutal storm were lamented by all. In the aftermath of the storm, the lives of many people were changed forever.

Similarly, the “storms of life” can bring devastating challenges, that can alter the very course of your life. After waking from an emergency surgery; burying a son or daughter; surviving a tragic car crash; rebounding from bankruptcy; enduring a tumultuous marriage or bitter divorce; many look back on such experiences with a new outlook on life; whether good or bad; no one can face such extreme traumas and remain the same.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

In John 16:33, Jesus warns and encourages His disciples that there will be confronted with many challenging experiences, but once we keep our hope and confidence in Him, He will give us the power to overcome any challenge we face in life.

PRAYER: I pray that you will begin to strengthen your relationship with God so that when you are confronted with the difficulties of life, that you will be able to trust God to help you endure to the end. I come against every spirit fear and confusion that would distract you from turning to God as your ultimate source as you seek to navigate the adversities of life. In Jesus name!

PROPHETIC DECLARATION: I decree and declare that you will call on the Lord in your distress knowing that He is a strong and mighty tower that the righteous can run into and be safe!

THIS TOO SHALL PASS!

This too shall pass!…
Words that can have so little meaning when you are confronted by some of life’s greatest storms. Although it may be true, when you are in the midst of a dilemma, many times you resort to survival mode with little thought of the end of the matter, as you try to focus everything within you on making it through this storm.

14 The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?

In Proverbs 18:14, the word of God reveals that the spirit of a man will sustain him in his infirmity but a wounded soul who can bear?

This simply means that the strength of your soul or your “inner strength” will determine your outcome of the trial you are facing. The truth of the matter is that nothing comes to last and truly one day out of the seven, what you are facing will pass. I encourage you today, if you are faced with a difficulty or hardship, take some time to seek God for wisdom, knowledge and direction for during and after the storm. He may be trying to get your attention; shift your direction or change your entire destiny.

In Proverbs 3:6, He says that if we were to acknowledge Him that He would direct our paths. Whatever the reason for the storm we know that all things are working together for good. (Romans 8:28)

PRAYER: I cover you under the blood of Jesus Christ and pray that you will have the courage and strength to overcome every difficulty, hardship or trial that comes your way, knowing that it did not come to last…but that this too shall pass!

PROPHETIC DECLARATION: I decree and declare that you will receive the strength of the Almighty God to endure to the end of your tests, trials and adversities, in Jesus name!

FROM BITTER TO BETTER… IT’S ALL WORKING TOGETHER FOR GOOD!!

In recent weeks, months and years, many people have been placed in desperate situations not knowing where to go or to whom to turn.  At times, overwhelmed by negative experiences, many people seek out any means by which they are able to endure life’s unexpected hardships.

In survival mode, you begin to realize that there are some attitudes which are not productive; some beliefs which are not relevant and some practices which are not important. Issues and viewpoints you once argued become irrelevant.

As your sister or relative lies fighting for their life after a serious car accident, suddenly the reason why you were arguing seems insignificant.  As you face bankruptcy or eviction, you no longer hesitate to ask for help.   As you are afflicted in your body, it does not matter that the surgeon does not look or sound like you. These and other idiosyncrasies become null and void when you are in survival mode.

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial
which is to try you, as though some strange thing
happened unto you: (1 Peter 4:12)

Tragedy is a catalyst for change.  In 1 Peter 4:12, the Word of God admonishes us that we should not be surprised when facing extremely difficult trials which have been designed to “try” or “test” you.  How you respond to your test will either highlight your strengths or expose your weaknesses.  These seasons in your life will either prove you and reveal  your strength of character or show you what your shortcomings are.  In  Romans 8:28, we are encouraged that all things are working together in our lives for good.  Therefore, whether weak or str God uses trials and trying times to bring out the best in you.

PRAYER:  I pray for you that you will have the strength to trust God in the midst of your adversity.  I pray that the Spirit of God will overshadow you and that the power from the Almighty God will give you the courage to endure every hardship, disappointment, heartbreak or discouragement, in the name of Jesus.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION:  I decree and declare that all things will work together for your good.  I decree and declare that God will turn all things in your favor and will make every bitter experience, sweet!

CAN A NATION BE RE-BORN AT ONCE?

Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things?
Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day?
or shall a nation be born at once? (Isaiah 66:8)

Almost every person in the entire world has been affected by the COVID-19 virus pandemic as individuals, families, communities and nations confront life or death situations on a daily basis. We must admit that the rapid spread of the deadly Coronavirus which broke during the first quarter of 2020, has caused the entire world to stop and cease from the busyness of everyday life.

In the midst of this global dilemma, it would seem as though God has allowed an interruption in man’s schedule; shifting his attention from the daily cares of life to now seeking to understand what is important in life. From the empty streets of Italy, the abandoned garment districts of New York or the deserted train stations of London; nations are experiencing a shaking that many have never seen before.

During this time, the focus is no longer how to “keep up with the jones” or what is the latest Hollywood style or which team made it to the NBA. No! In the light of an almost apocalyptic existence many seek answers to the present grave dilemmas of the day and an understanding of the the uncertain future which they now face. As entire nations have fallen to their knees in prayer and repentance before God, I believe that it is time for the nations to return to God. News reports indicate that people have lined the streets of their cities and are praying can crying out to God. I believe this global pandemic will spark a much needed revival of prayer for many nations. A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the Lord will hasten it in his time. (Psalm 60:22)
PRAYER: I pray that you will get to know Jesus as your Lord, personal Savior , Healer and Deliverer. If you are a believer, I pray that you will seek after a greater knowledge of God and that the Spirit of God will continue to draw you into His presence so that you can be guarded and protected by His mighty power.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION: I decree and declare that you will continue to trust in God for every area of your life and that Jesus is and always will be the answer for every situation that you will ever experience. Amen!

REBUILDING THE ALTARS OF PRAYER

Prayer does not just change things, but prayer has been proven to change things on every level. Although this may be true, many times people tend to use prayer as a last resort when they are faced with a crisis or stubborn dilemma; turning to the things of the world rather than turning to God.

In Jeremiah 2:13, the spirit of God laments, For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

This may be sad, but so true; not only have many people turned away from God but tend to have a greater confidence in worldly systems, people and other carnal pursuits which are not able to bring them the solution or resolve that they seek. They may experience a temporary satisfaction and left feeling frustrated or confused.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence
is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures
for evermore.
(Psalm 16:11)

In Psalm 16:11, I believe the Psalmist came to the realization that the answer to living an abundant life is in pursing the presence of Almighty God. He further states that the presence of God creates a peace and satisfaction that is not short-lived but endures forever.

I believe that the answer to all that the world is facing, especially with the recent Coronavirus pandemic, is to turn back to God. In the lives of many, the altars of prayer need to be rebuilt. An altar is a consecrated or dedicated place of sacrifice. Prayer is your communication or communion with God.

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (James 5:16)

In order to rebuild the altars of prayer or to pray effectively, you must first come to the realization that you were seeking after the wrong things and that the presence of God in your life is your ultimate priority. Once you embrace this revelation, you can now seek to rebuild the altars of prayer by observing the following:

  1. Repent; you must first have a mind change and make a firm decision that you will do whatever it takes to turn back to God
  2. Refocus your life and forget anyone or anything that seeks to distract you from moving forward in your pursuit of developing a consecrated prayer life
  3. Release and let go of past issues and disappointments that may keep you from the presence of God
  4. Realign yourself with the will of God by making prayer, fasting and reading the Word of God a priority in your life
  5. Re-establish set times of prayer and remain faithful to them
  6. Remove yourself from people, places or practices which may challenge your commitment to your prayer life or walk with God
  7. Restore your relationship with the One True God and make Him and His will for your life your ultimate priority

PRAYER: (Pray this prayer of repentance and rededication to the things of God if you have not made Him your ultimate priority in your life.)

Father, I repent for all the wrong that I have done. I ask that you forgive me for not making you a priority in my life and at times seeking after other things before I seek after you in prayer. I ask that you would restore me back to you and give me the courage, strength and wisdom to go after you with all of my heart and mind, in Jesus name!

PROPHETIC DECLARATION: I decree and declare that this is your season of turnaround and that you will seek after the presence of God like never before and make Him a priority in everything that you do in Jesus name!

PRAYER: POWER TO OVERCOME EVERY TRAGEDY

Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me,
and I will hearken unto you.  (Jeremiah 29:12)

Everyone must agree that there are times when life “just happens”.  The good and the bad experiences in life are not always predictable.  The good you readily embrace but how do you rebound after extremely devastating, or unexpected adversities. Tragedies are not relegated to the poor, to a certain socioeconomic class or to a particular ethnicity, race or nationality of people.

When you are suddenly confronted with harsh realities or the severity of life’s disappointments, these unexpected dilemmas can challenge you to such a degree that it propels you into a whirlwind of confusion and despair.  These life-altering experiences can be so adverse that they cause great suffering, distress or hopelessness.  During these times, many tend to grasp at anything that will bring some form of comfort or resolve.  Many tend to seek out the things of this world or carnal pursuits, such as smoking, drinking, promiscuity, and the like, in an effort to  deal with their pain or grief.

In John 16:33,  Jesus lets us know that as long as we are alive, there will be challenges and adverse circumstances with which we will be faced; but He also encourages is that if we continually put our trust and hope in Him that He will give us a peace which passes all understanding.  (Philippians 4:7)

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace.
In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer;
I have overcome the world.  (John 16:33)

Unfortunately, the one thing that God has given to all of us that tends to be overlooked is the power that can be found in prayer.   Many begin to turn towards God and the things of God as a last resort, not fully realizing that  prayer, constant communication with God, is the answer to any dilemma they are facing.  In 1 Peter 5:7, we are encourage to come to God with every care or concern with which we are troubled.

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
(1 Peter 5:7)

As the entire world is confronted with the tragedies of the Coronavirus Outbreak; governments, communities, families and individuals seek to deal with the tragedy of loss of life of loved ones; economic challenges;   social devastation and mass unrest because of this unexpected  pandemic.  In uncertain times like these, we must begin to earnestly seek God through prayer and pursue His presence so that we will not be overwhelmed by what is going on around us.

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched
with the feeling of our infirmities;  (Hebrews 4:15)

No matter what we are faced with; no matter how devastating or disappointing the news, always know that there is nothing that you can confront in this life, from which God cannot deliver you.  The power to overcome every adversity, no matter how great or small is found in prayer.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.  (John 3:16)

In John 3:16, we are encouraged that God loves us so much it is not His desire to see any of us perish or be destroyed.  Rather, it is the desire of the Father that we experience and possess an abundant life which starts as soon as you experience and accept His love; a forever lasting love that leads you to experience a forever lasting life of joy and peace with Him; even in the midst of adversity!

PRAYER:  Father, I pray that you would take up a burden upon to pray when you are faced with challenging times.  I come against every spirit of stress, frustration, worry or care or anything that would act as a distraction to you seeking God for the help and comfort you need, especially in the midst of your adversity.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION:   In the name of Jesus, I decree and declare that you will use prayer as a powerful weapon against your enemy and overcome every adversity that you are faced with as you consistently turn to the altars of prayer.

DELIVERANCE IS NOT A ONE-TIME EVENT

.   DELIVERANCE SIMPLY MEANS TO BE SET FREE FROM BONDAGE.

.   DELIVERANCE IS A LIFESTYLE AND MAY SOMETIMES INVOLVE A LIFETIME PROCESS.
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. (John 8:36)

ALTHOUGH DELIVERANCE HAPPENS INSTANTLY, YOU MAY STILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH A TOTAL PROCESS IN ORDER TO WALK IN YOUR COMPLETE DELIVERANCE.

IN OTHER WORDS, EVEN THOUGH A DEMON IS CAST OUT OF YOU AND THEY LEAVE, YOUR COMPLETE PROCESS OF WHOLENESS and TRANSFORMATION WILL INVOLVE RADICAL STEPS INCLUDING:

1. REPENTANCE
2. RENEWING THE MIND
3. RESTORATION OF THE SOUL.

IN ALMOST EVERY STAGE OR LEVEL OF YOUR SPIRITUAL JOURNEY YOU MAY YOU WILL DISCOVER THAT you may NEED SOME FORM OF DELIVERANCE.

WHY IS THIS THE CASE?

THIS IS SO BECAUSE AS LONG AS YOU ARE ALIVE, AS A BELIEVER, YOU WILL ENCOUNTER SPIRITUAL WARFARE; THE WAR BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL, LIGHT AND DARKNESS.

IN FACT, IT IS SOMETIMES DURING THESE FIERCE DAY TO DAY SPIRITUAL BATTLES, THAT YOU MAY EXPERIENCE ATTACKS FROM THE ENEMY AND BECOME AFFLICTED.

Psalm 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

IT IS DURING AFFLICTION IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL, DEMONS TAKE AN OCCASION TO ENTER YOUR LIFE. THE WAY TO REMOVE THEM IS BY THE ADMINISTRATION OF DELIVERANCE.

DELIVERANCE IS THE KEY TO ERADICATE AFFLICTION AND EVERY DEMONIC ATTACK. IN OTHER WORDS, WHEN YOU RECEIVE DELIVERANCE, AFFLICTION HAS TO GO. JESUS GAVE HIS RESURRECTION POWER TO HIS ANOINTED ONES; HIS SERVANTS, THROUGH THE MINISTRY OF THE APOSTLES & PROPHETS TO ADMINISTER DELIVERANCE TO YOU IN JESUS’ NAME.
